  • North Japan (Hokkaido): Spring | April to May: Temperatures start to rise, and cherry blossoms bloom later than in other parts of Japan.
    Summer | June to August: Mild and pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 25°C.
    Autumn | September to November: Cool and crisp weather with stunning autumn foliage.
    Winter | December to March: Cold and snowy, perfect for winter sports enthusiasts.
  • Central Japan (Honshu)
    Spring | March to May: Cherry blossoms bloom in late March to early April with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C.
    Summer | June to August: The rainy season (tsuyu) occurs in June and July, followed by a hot and sunny period, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C.

  • South Japan (Kyushu and Shikoku)
    Spring | March to May: Warm and pleasant, with cherry blossoms blooming earlier than in other regions
    Summer | June to September: Hot and humid, with temperatures often reaching 35°C. Typhoon season peaks in August and September.
    Autumn | October to December: Warm and mild with less humidity. Autumn foliage is vibrant in late October to early December.
    Winter | January to February: Mild compared to the rest of Japan, with temperatures rarely dropping below freezing.
  • South Japan (Okinawa)
    Spring | March to May: The rainy season, known locally as “Tsuyu,” typically begins in early May, bringing increased humidity and precipitation.
    Summer | June to September: Hot and humid with frequent rainfall, especially during the peak of the rainy season in June. Typhoon season spans from July to September, with August and September being particularly active.
    Autumn | October to November: Generally warm and pleasant with reduced humidity. The frequency of typhoons decreases, making it a favorable time for outdoor activities.
    Winter | December to February: Mild and comfortable, with more cloudy and rainy days compared to other seasons. While temperatures are cooler, they remain relatively warm compared to mainland Japan.
